Smile Hmmmm....

I have no doubt this sounds great. My question is whether it will fit my thumb.

Did it feel Medium to you? And how difficult to adjust the metal? Any thoughts?

Thanks

Paul

The metal seems like it should be easy to adjust. I wasn't aggressive with it so didn't bend it much.

There are some threads in the general discussion which describe this pick well, and which are the reason I decided to give it a try. Also good info on the vendor web site.

It's woody and warm sounding, perfect for someone who wants that. I like the more solid delivery I get from a different pick.

Yes, it feels medium and adjustable. Read about that aspect on vendor site.

How does this compare to golden gate or bluechip thumbpicks? I ask because I got a large red bear but it was enormous. So is this comparable to a medium or large of other brands?

I am not able to answer this. Perhaps someone else can?

This is the older Pro-Pik band - my understanding is ProPik has changed ownership and the new owners don't let Red Bear use their bands anymore so they've come up with their own. I can't comment on the new ones, but I have two of these Redbear thumb picks with the Medium Propik band (having tried propik thumb picks with both large and medium - the large felt enormous to me as well). I also have a Blue Chip in Large. I find this RedBear medium very similar to the Blue Chip large, although more easily bendable/adjustable.

I personally find the Blue Chip large to be the most comfortable fit in a thumb pick of any I've tried, but I don't really like the blade or how close the rivets are to the tip (after I file the blade down to a length I like) - I end up catching the rivets on the strings too often. I also like the sound of the casein Red Bear uses more than the Blue Chip. I don't find this ProPik medium band quite as comfortable as the Blue Chip, but it's really adjustable and I've never had any trouble getting it to fit or stay put. It doesn't FEEL as secure as the Blue Chip, but functionally it is.

In short, I find this medium ProPik band very similar to the Blue Chip large in terms of size. I have two of the Red Bears and use one of them all the time. I guess the other is backup in case I ever lose or break the first one, but I doubt I'll ever need it. If the Blue Chip Large fits you, this should too.

I think we've discussed this before. This is my experience anyway.
