Default *Sold - Pending Payment* 2016 Santa Cruz OM Short Scale - German Spruce / Cocobolo

Relisting my Santa Cruz OM Short Scale. I couldn't pull the trigger on selling this or trading it in previously but circumstances have changed and I need to sell a few guitars to fund some unexpected house expenses.

This is an OM Short Scale with German Spruce top and Cocobolo B&S. The Cocobolo is very straight grained and is absolutely stunning in person. It sounds like it's 25 years old and has a very rich but aged tone. The guitar is in excellent condition with only two minor imperfections: a slight indentation in the top on the bass side of the sound hole and some thin streaks where it looks like a tuning tool hit the side of the headstock.

Priced to sell at $Sold PayPal F&F shipped to CONUS. Thanks for looking and feel free to ask any questions.

Cocobolo back/sides
German Spruce top
Adirondack bracing with hot hide glue
Short (24.75") scale length
2-1/4" bridge spacing
Abalone rosette
No inlays on the fingerboard
Gold Waverly tuners
Ebony bridge/end pins with abalone dots

This is one gorgeous instrument. You described your other ABW/Italian SC OM as being somewhere in between rosewood and mahogany in tone. How would you characterize this beauty’s tonal palette?

Thanks for the note. This is much closer to a Brazilian Rosewood tone. It has an aged tone with overtones that reflect like off glass. It's as close to a Brazilian tone as I've heard in any other Rosewood, although I haven't played Madagascar RW yet.

Your collection is remarkable. This is a Redwood Acoustics build, isn’t it? (Looks very familiar). I am tempted but must resist. GLWS

Actually this is from Eddie's. See the original link below. The good news is at this price the guitar should be easy to resell if the buyer later needs to raise cash.

Hi Wespj10, is this 24.75" or 25"? Mattt Chulka described it as a short scale 25". Could you measure it from the rear edge of the nut to the crown of the 12th fret please. I know that it is difficult without a proper long ruler. Do you have a cloth tape measure of sorts? Metric in mm would also do nicely for me. A 25" scale length would measure exactly 12.50" at the crown of the 12th fret.

A 0.25" difference may not sound like much but it is quite significant tonally. I am not a fan of the 24.75" scale length so it is important to me.

Sorry, brain fade...

Santa Cruz's records indicate that it is 24.75". I wasable to measure the scale length this evening. On the low E it appears this is a 25" scale. However, due to the angle of the saddle, the high E measures very close to 24.75". I can send pics of this if this is also a concern for others who have interest.

Thank you. It is of 24.75" scale length then. The saddle has to provide intonation compensation for all 6 strings. So, it would measure longer from rear edge of nut to breakover at the saddle. The nominal scale length is measured from rear edge of nut to the crown of the 12th fret.
