That was a nice review by Marty, I agree with practically everything he said about the guitar and that's the exact model I have so I assume they will sound the same (minus strings), except that I removed the LR Baggs element as well which has some impact on the volume and tone (for the better). Normally companies send Marty their guitars and/or gear for review but it doesn't seem to be the case here as he thanked them for letting him jam on it. Either way it doesn't matter. The Sable has been getting some well deserved love here during the last few months thanks for sharing.

Paul Overstreet uses a Sable on the Muletown in the Round series on RFD-TV. There are also some live stream videos on his Facebook page.

That sounded real good I just wish he'd played it unplugged also. I'd love to hear it's full acoustic tone.

That was unplugged. The Boss Amp is just there in the background you can see the mic in front of the guitar.

That Sable wasn't real anyway. They simply don't exist. We have all heard of "urban legends"...

Meh review. Marty seems to be a nice guy, but ....

The Sable is not louder than any of my wood guitars. It's actually a bit more quiet so that it's easy to sing at a normal volume and be a lot louder than the Sable.

Something still sounds off to me. Muddled, or it it just my ears?

That's kinda why I originally said I practically agree with everything he said. My 3 wooden guitars are dreadnoughts. The Sable is 000 size so I wouldn't expect it to be as loud as those. Maybe he really meant that it was louder than wood guitars the same size?

I can also add this. I removed the LR Baggs element from my Sable and noticed a little increase in volume, which is consistent with my previous experience with the element and Anthem systems. I also find elixir strings aren't as loud as others, which is what the Sable comes with. I currently have D'addario XT light 80/20's on my Sable and as it is right now it's not far off the volume of my dreads. Not that I care about volume by no means. I never bought the Sable with the hope that it would be a dreadnought cannon, though it has plenty of volume and is a good guitar to sing and play with IMO.

I play mostly fingerstyle and often in hotels, where I don’t want to be too loud, and the Sable is great, louder than my Lucky13 but easily controllable. I do find that with a pick it really comes alive volume wise, more difference here than I notice in my wood guitars.

I agree. That video wasn't representative of what I experienced with some brief time with a Sable.

My Sable is very warm. Maybe the recording didn’t convey that, although with my speakers it sounded good to me.
I think what I meant earlier is I am surprised by the dynamic range, a factor that impressed me with the X20 as well.
