Default Anyone use Reason studio ? Echo Effect question

Ok so I’m dumb I think ? Lol
So I had this problem before then it fixed itself now it’s back .

I insert the echo effect into my track and unless I’m wrong the first note I hit should sound in my monitors but it’s delayed like a second , just a example time wise it could be little less then a sec .

Anyway . Let’s say I’m recording and have the mics up and say HEY ! well there’s no immediate hey hey hey hey hey hey .

There’s Hey ….. ( passing of time ) then hey hey hey hey hey etc lol

This drives me nuts and I have no clue to what causes this .

Anyone got a clue to what’s going on ?

Thanks folks . [emoji4]

I have Reason Studio but honestly I have not used it much recently other then it's Dry Drum kit on whatever that main sampler is. My main DAW is Pro Tools

I did use the echo Once a long time ago But my guess is either you have some kind of pre delay ? or you need to adjust the echo time to a faster setting

Can you post a screen shot of the Echo GUI to see what controls are on it ?

I use Reason 12 for almost all my soft-synth work. I'll gladly get in there and check things out for you. What echo are you using, and is it inserted into a track or used as a Aux send and return on the console?

What happens if you actually ignore the weird timing and record something, then listen back? If they echo is actually correct when you play it back, then you have an issue with monitoring latency. How to fix it will depend in part on your computer and interface, as well as Reason settings.

It sorta sounds like you have the delay inserted into a track. If that's the case do you have the Mix-Dry control dial way back? It sounds as if you have an insert delay set to full echo?

Didn’t record anything with the echo yet never do when it’s like this . Hasn’t happened in a while .

Don’t think it’s latency everything else is spot on .

Yeah I mostly just insert it into the track . I don’t think the mix was off . I tried a another echo and it did the same thing .

Normally inserting the echos I’ve not had to start off adjusting anything .

There must be a latency or buffer thing going on between the echo and whatever .

Using the Reasons “The Echo “ also I have BBD echo or something I forget but it did the same thing . It’s inserted into the track like I normally do .

Ok folks I come to the conclusion I am a complete dumb ***** !!

I give free reign to call me whatever suites your fancy ! Lol

Very embarrassing. I fired up the system and sure enough when the echo came on the wet mix was set to max .

Now In my head scratching I was clicking switch’s and turning virtual knobs . I know I turned the mix down but must had something else messed up because I didn’t notice the change .

This time all I did first was turn the mix down . I should of realized this as the reverbs come online the same way with the mix maxed out . I just don’t use the Echo much .

Trust me I hear all “ I told you so’s “ 🤣

Again I feel pretty stupid and I thank you for your patience and help . [emoji4][emoji847]
