VERY good book!! I'm about to give it another read-thru. I heard they made a movie, but I dare not watch it, because many a great book has been defiled that way.

I enjoyed the and two others by him.

I just finished Last Night in Twisted River, by John Irving.

It is twisted, like all of his stuff!

I got hooked on him a long time ago, and find his writing to be very entertaining, his plots just on the far side of realistic, and characters compelling. Not sure I could have ever waded through everything Dickens wrote a few years ago if I hadn't read Irving first. Now if I could only remember it....!

THE MOON IS A HARSH MISTRESS
Great sci-fi that takes place in the not to distant future.
This is the fourth time reading it. Always pick up something new in the dialogue. A really fast read. Always feel attached to the cast of characters.

I also just recently read DHALGREN, also sci-fi, again for the 6th or 7th, I can't even remember how many times I've read that book. I get some of it, and the rest still leaves me guessing. It's so out there, I always get drawn back thinking this time I'm going to understand it. It's really long and some chapters you have to push through but I just love the multitude of characters.

Audible...The Music Lesson by Victor Wooten.

I almost gave up on it, but I'm glad I haven't. It's very good.

I enjoy Ann Cleesves mysteries. This one is #6 in the Vera Stanhope series.

About 2/3 through this book.....a novel, but based on some true stories and research about WW2 and occupied France. It's really quite good about two sisters and their separate but intense lives during this trying time.

Next up: Michael Beschloss, "Presidents of War".......just out.
