There's only one guitar, of all my many, that I would not want to live without would be the Bourgeois Presentation L-DBO, no question about it. I have never played any guitar that comes close to this L-00 by Dana.

Since this sounds kind of apocalyptic, I first thought about a Rainsong that I'm about to acquire. Considering what I currently own, it would have to be my Ovation FD-14. Don't laugh! It's a wonderful guitar! See here: http://www.ovationgallery.com/page6stringfd.htm

If you can afford it, my favorite guitar is the Gibson Songwriter. I bought mine 7 years ago and I've never gotten tired of it. Sounds very clear, great depth, balanced, and to me is inspirational in songwriting. So imho, it lives up to its name. Check it out at Guitar Center and try it out for yourself!

Let's see, one guitar...........any great guitar would do. However, to pick one, it would be a 000/OM short-scale so likely a Martin 000-18, 000-28 or 000-42.

But life would be so much easier. You wouldn't be faced with the difficulty of deciding which guitar to play today.

It's not difficult. I would hate to be limited to one type of tone wood. Every day it's a joy to pick the one I'm going play.

I’m playing this game in real life. After years of owning upwards of 10 acoustics at any given moment, I currently own one (assuming you aren’t counting resonators, of which I have 3). My one guitar is a Martin 00-15. I’ve owned plenty of guitars that cost a lot more; used to believe I needed all manner of different makers, sizes, wood types, etc. But the truth is: the 00-15 handles everything. Sure, I look and drool at other guitars, and maybe I’ll get another one of these days. But for now, I LOVE having just one guitar. Simplicity.

I'll let you know as soon as I have played every guitar out there. Should only take around 20 or 30 years.

When I had to get by with my Taylor 410 only for years, I felt I wasn't in bad hands. If I had to end up with that as my only one again that would be OK.

It's not a fancy guitar but it plays like a dream and sounds great. Not sure what else I would need.

If it has to be a CURRENT PRODUCTION guitar I'd choose a Martin OM-21 or an OM-28. Because they suit me in all ways. But I wouldn't kick an OM-42 out of bed either.
