There was a Will Rogers quote kicking around this forum a while ago.... loosely (I think) it was.... Good judgement comes from experience.... and alot of that comes from bad judgement. Doesn't quite fit our situation here..... but since the quote is a mile better than our lick so far.... we'll make our lick fit the quote instead of the other way 'round. short post....

don't want to play music as little kids write....
they write short and choppy sentences...often disconnected.......fine for them...perfectly fine for them...but...if you're a grown-up... musical phrases skks[[kf ???? try agaian... I'm tellin' ya....it wasn't even 8:01....man..... musical phrases get spread out as complete thoughts....spread out over a few measures.....we don't want disconnected licks.... 4 bars is a typical length.... the way we form chords from scales (stacking intervals of a 3rd....or picking every other note...however you want to think of it....) affords you a very natural way of practicing scales that lead to mature 4 bar phrases for 'free' essentially... post///// I got my credit card ready and it's not even 8:01..... bummer...

(*) at risk of being sarcastic(!!!!!)...I nominate you for position of forum moderator.... note to self...return to (*).... what you suggest doesn't seem to be the difficulty though...I get logged off the forum at random repeatedly....could be 3 minutes, could be 8 or 10.... but when one gets typing it's easy to lose track of time....(makes it all the more frustrating (tend to lose longer posts)
