I say we think we are the masters but fail to see that we're just the servants. These woods will stay more than we will so ...

and:
One woman - many guitars
One guitar - many women

choose wise ....

The same should be said about land. No one actually owns land.

Default caretaking

This all goes along with the thought that my space here in the world is just rented. Not leased, as that implies a known ending. The world was here when I arrived and will be here when I leave; I get to use it for a while.

If I am to be remembered beyond the lives of my children, what will it be for? My writings? My music? Not likely my photos? Not endowments as I haven't left any. SM gave me an idea. I have several "creations" that will outlive me. Well, ...I didn't create them myself, but I caused them to be created and greatly influenced how they turned out. What? My guitars of course. Why not put a little history in the case with each one, something that can stay with it with a succession of owners?

I already keep an electronic diary during the creation process. A little bit of polishing, add to it once in a while, and I will have created a history of each handbuilt guitar I own.

When I'm dead and gone I couldn't care less what happens to my possessions, frankly. I have some nice, mint condition old cameras, a couple of rare, antique and valuable wristwatches, as well as my cheap guitars. It's just accumulated 'stuff', and nothing to get sentimental or mawkish over.

Ditto, ditto and ....... ditto. They aren't ethereal concepts. They are actual possessions. Some people "own" them and never play them.

You can't hold it in your hand like a guitar, and for that reason they can tax you annually for the "ownership", which proves we can only rent.
