Default Build Thread: Charis SJ Brazilian Cedar

Phil (AKA Kritterkreations) just joined the forum a couple weeks ago. Here are some build photos of the Brazilian Cedar SJ we are putting together. I'm sure Phil will chime in with his thoughts on the build.

Inside the nicely figured Brazilian back.

The rim set.

My favorite shot - insides before they get hidden!

More to come in a day or two.

Beautiful wood and construction, Bill! I'll be looking forward to seeing the end result!

Bill sent me some new photos and progress of my SJ. He is such a talent and a good man to deal with..I am more than pleased with his craftsmanship. This is worse than waiting for Christmas when I was a kid...won't be long now !!

Congratulations! You are living one of my dreams right now. I love watching Charis build threads. Everything is so clean, precise, and tastefully done. Mr. wise, beautiful workmanship as always. One day, I hope to be in a position to own or even commission a Charis build.

I was out of town when this was first posted - no wonder Bill has been quiet lately, he's been very busy with inlays!

That is going to be a masterpiece!

I've never seen the ab fingerboard extension joined into the rosette before - very unique!

Good to see you on the AGF, Phil.

I love the specs you went with for this guitar.

Congrats!

Thanks everybody..It was Bill's idea to do the back of the headstock to complement the front. I think it turned out great. Bill is a true artist as well as many others on this site. Anyone who can take a pile of wood and create such pieces of artwork simply amaze me.

Wow wee! I love how the top trim is joined with the abalone around the tongue of the fingerboard which blends seamlessly into the rosette
