I am listening to Tim clitter-clack on his key board. It's music to my ears.

Beethoven's 9th Symphony as performed by the Radcliffe-Harvard Orchestra. It's the focus for an online classical music course that I'm taking through edX and Harvard University.

That sounds enjoyable. I like his late string quartets.

Nice to hear from you. Yo Yo Ma has recorded the six suites for solo cello more than once, the 1983 version may be the earliest and most famous?

Thanks Mud, I hear you on the music preferences and with Grant Green. It’s a treat to have this on vinyl. The early 1960s was a great time for jazz guitar, and often overlooked in the history for what the horn players were doing at the time.

Ha...meant to say I don't think Green is as well-known as Montgomery, but that he deserves to be!

My familiarity with his string quartets is limited to op.59 no.3 and op. 74 which are in the middle of his output. As much as I love his symphonies, I wasn't enthralled with either of those quartets. Perhaps I should give a try to one of the later ones. Any suggestions?
I love the entire work, but the second movement has always been my favorite. The course I'm taking is opening up a much greater appreciation for everything. The insights to the work are a delight. I suspect when I've finished the course I'll no longer have a single favorite movement.
