Half a mil for a prototype custom shop Fender? It's worth like $10-20k tops IMO! I mean, original 1954 strats go somewhere in that range, this is nothing more than an inlayed strat! And when did Carlos play a strat anyway?

I should make a fake account and bid on it so I could post pics.

Check his "other items for sale", he has three of them. It might be a hijacked account; the name had recently been changed, and he hasn't sold anything since last year.

If any of the guitars sell on eBay he will have almost $7,400.00 in eBay fees for each auction.

All three of his auctions are for the same guitar? I wonder if he'd let all 3 go for an even 1 Mil?

That would make it one of the 3 most expensive guitars ever sold behind the Hendrix guitar that Dweezel Zappa got from Daddy and turned down $500,000 and the 1949 Prototype Fender Broadcaster that sold for $375,000 after being on display for a while.

One would think that a person selling a guitar online for almost a half of a million dollars could spell and provide pictures.

For Sale

Large stone bridge with steel support beams. Connects lower Manhattan with Brooklyn. Two lanes in each direction. Excellent condition - well seasoned and nicely broken in. Will pay for itself in to no time through toll collection. It's a BABE of a deal. See pix below.

The seller has been reported to Ebay for fraud. He is selling three "prototypes" and each is suppose to be one of a kind!

I bet it is a hijacked account.

This guy too,

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...&category=2385

Has this auction listed three time, but in different currencies, but along with other stuff, so I don't know what to think of this one.

Well, for one, Carlos Santana has a very particular brand of guitar that he has used exclusively and obsessively for the past 19-20 years. Unless Fender is the company that uses "10 tops" and "bird inlays" as their trademarks, I'd say that would be the most obvious sign that the Ebay post was bogus.

I've never even seen a photo with Santana holding a Strat, not even in the '60's, when Paul Reed Smith was a math-loving adolescent who had no idea that he would be a luthier, much less have Carlos Santana as a client. From what little understanding that I have, he favored Gibsons for a long time, then, for a while, a Yamaha custom shop model, but no Strat.

I'm guessing as well that the account, once very reputable, is now hijacked.
