Montana took the Chiefs to a championship game when he got there. Favre took the Vikings to the NFC championship game with a 33 TD season.
I'm not suggesting anyone is better or worse. Just saying that Brady is at least as good. And there was more pressure on him considering how many people were waiting for an answer on the Belichick v. Brady thing. Montana had Walsh, but nobody ever questioned if it was him or Walsh. They just accepted that 2 legends were together. Green Bay had Holmgren (wasn't impressed when he came to Seattle. Never saw him go into the locker room at half time and come out with "the answer"), but Favre was always the "wildcard" the "gun slinger" "the gambler". You would win or lose on his fortunes. For a franchise to buy success, even for just one season, is worth it. We'll see how far he goes. But he has most definitely added to his legacy, not diminished it.

Most definitely. And a new #1 for Tom:
Oldest QB to have thrown 40+ TD passes in a season. As much as we hated to see him go in NE, the feeling around here was that he made the right move, i.e. going to a team that complemented him in the best way, especially with a solid receiver corps and stout defense. That was probably the biggest disagreement between him and BB in these last years: Staffing. Even if Tampa Bay doesn't make it past Mr. Rodger's neighborhood, it's still a season he can be proud of.

Considering the season Brady had and the Bucs had, including the post season, I'd say absolutely the 'experiment' was a success.

Top 10 in QBR, third in the NFL in passing yards, tied for second in passing TDs and a trip to the conference finals. The fact that we ask the question speaks volumes.

Brady's in the NFC championship game. The Patriots are home watching the games. And I'm a Pats fan.
Success? Definitely. Go Tommy!! |

No question about it. Goal achieved even if TB doesn’t win the SB. Go Packers!
