Default Electric style pots in acoustic soundboard

Hi all,

I love the look of the kind of 60s electro acoustic guitars with electric style pots on the soundboard, I'm thinking of doing this on my guitar. My question is, will this have a noticeable/significant effect on sound?

The guitar is an Aria cedar top parlour that I bought for just over 50 squid as a factory second with a lifted bridge so it's not something valuable I'd be drilling into.

probably

if you REALLY want to do this, then get as close to the edge of the top as you can, and make sure you aren't drilling into a brace.

I'd MUCH prefer to go top edge
