I surely do get a lot of good ideas from watching you build. I especially like the way you cut binding ends square on the table saw. And I really would like to have one of those little detail Sanders. Where do you get that?

I think you might be referring to my 2" right angle die grinder? If so, its air powered and made by Dotco. I believe they were originally made for tool and die makers for the main purpose of sanding and grinding metal. Mine comes in handy for fitting necks, detail sanding small areas like binding ends and taking just a "skosh" off here and there. Skosh is a highly technical term that many might not be aware of but I am sure its in your vocabulary so no further explanation is required. I found one at Harbor Freight that is similar to mine [IF] this is the tool which you were referring to? https://www.harborfreight.com/1-4-qu..._q=die+grinder |

I understand skosh however my spell check was not familiar with the term.
Thanks for the lead. What do you put into that grinder as a sanding tool?

It’s a 2” diameter “twist lock” disc and pad. I generally use 40 and 60 grit discs to hog material off. “Hog” another one of those technical terms unlike the 4 footed creatures that ultimately end up beside a couple eggs and toast or used in the manufacture of marshmallows. Ewwwwh!

They are very handy for sanding and shaping brace ends. https://www.harborfreight.com/sandin...anding+sleeves Last edited by Tim McKnight; 02-13-2021 at 09:28 PM. |

Technological terms
I believe I will go hog off a skoch of grub...
As for sound ports, I am COMPLETELY SOLD. They really work like a little monitor speaker to let you hear the instrument. I have played a bunch of loud restaurants, parties, art shows and occasional loud senior/healthcare gigs completely unamped with my JK Customs and the ports have made it much easier to sing, since I can hear the axe way better. There is NO loss of sound off the top. Folks occasionally ask me where is my amp! Hahaha Go for it! You will be glad you did. Salud Paul

BTW a skosh is an appreciation of a Japanese term meaning a little bit. I didn’t know that. I always thought that A Skosh was two smidgens.

Women are from Venus. Men are from Mars.
I tell Tim to remove a titch. He removes a skosh. And yet ... somehow we still choose to be teammates. It’s a good thing it works for us!

This thread will be idle for a couple weeks while the neck travels across the US for test fitting and then back to us for (possible) tweaks and adjustments.

And more....
Look at that skill of joining that heel to the body and how the blue strip lines up! Impressed.

Yeah - he's a show-off. You should see him hit a 3 wood over the top of a 50 foot tall tree 230 yds out in the middle of a fairway
