Well, the trick is to buy your wife the instrument and hope she'll let you play it once in a while. |

I tried that in buying a cordless vacuum for my garage one time. My wife said "Thanks!" and I had to buy a second one.

True, but those of us paying attention know that you recently got a new scooter. So our sympathies are limited.

Did you see that 6 string Amicus in the last shipping video? I'd love to hear that.

That would be very cool. I have a buddy up in Anchorage that fell for an Amicus when visiting the factory three years ago. He also owns - and loves - an X30 custom cocobolo. I too might want to just have the single strings for clarity, but I suppose you could simply string one up that way. It probably requires a replacement nut. (I have strung up twelvers as six-string guitars a couple of times to experiment with wider fret boards). |

Very cool looking for sure but missing the unison sound of 12 strings that I love about the amicus. |

Tuned A-to-A like a Tacoma Papoose?

Standard tuning for an Amicus is D-D - like the 10th fret of a regular guitar.

But larger than a guitalele which is only tuned up to A. Those are nylon strings though.
Still I wonder, would it be possible to have an Amicus tuned A to A with different strings?

That would suggest that A to A ought to be possible, but whether the tension would be enough to drive the top properly would be an exercise for the user
