Default My Emerald Chimaera 6/12 Doubleneck is on its way to me! Pics Inside!

I'm stoked! Alistair sent me an email today advising that my Chimaera is shipped. He provided the pics below. I absolutely LOVE it and I can't wait to get my hands on it! Good thing I'm an 'anticipation junkie'.

As some of you know, I sold my '08 CA GXi in hi-gloss tobacco burst to help fund the Chimaera. I loved the burst front and gloss black back & sides of the GXi. As a result, rather than choosing the full weave in vintage amber, I opted for the weave just on the top and fronts of the headstocks, and gloss black b&s. I also went with Gotoh Stealth tuners in Cosmo black and the gold Emerald logo. At my request, Alistair installed the L.R. Baggs Lyric electronics.

Thanks guys! I'll have to patiently await until I can officially join the "Chimaera Doubleneck Neck Appreciation Society" though. As for recording, that's going to be a tough one for me as I'm not well-equipped. I'll see what I can do, but it'll take me some time.

Tom,

I LOVE your signature. Is that new? I could have sworn it was just a single-neck before. At any rate, I got a good laugh when I noticed it. Congrats on your imminent induction into the "Chimaera Doubleneck Neck Appreciation Society". I hear the initiation is pretty rough, but it's worth it.

Wow! That is so cool. Doubleneck's version is really an amazing guitar - not just a crazy fever dream, but a truly wonderful sounding and playing instrument. I look forward to your reports.

Default Road Trip

Well Tommy,
I know you don't know me; but we all know that Carbon guitar owners and pickers are family, so I suggest you and that sweet Siamese Emerald make the trip to beautiful Rochelle VA. I am nesteled on 8 acres with front and back porches to sit and play, right on the scenic Rapidan River, gently flowing in the background, inspiring the soul to beautiful music that can only come from this part of God's creation which is still pure and untainted by the foul stench of nearby Washington DC. whew (that was all one breath)
I can only imagion the sounds of my Rainsong and that double Emerald. Playing Croce, Travis, Chet, Denver, Lightfoot.
When can I expect you?

I agree a roadtrip is in order, but somehow I see a Ohio road side park where there is a simple first meeting of the "Chimaera Doubleneck Appreciation Society" where 4 necks join in raising song and music to the magic of the Leprechaun.

There you go, hi-jacking my idea. It's a good thing you're family!

Thanks Ted! As you well know, it took a while to get through the process of selling my GXi to be able to fund this Emerald. I'm sure it will have been well worth it.
