And, moments ago from John:

"We are experiencing a global pandemic and in these troubling times it seems that much-needed leadership has been left to the individual. So, we will lead based simply on doing what we believe is right. We have decided to reschedule the 2020 Artisan Guitar Show."

IMVHO, the correct decision.

Thank you for passing along this information John. I booked my flight on Southwest so I can use those funds for a future flight with them.

Now I will have to see if American Airlines and my Airbnb host are as accomodating for my flight to Seattle in May for the La Conner Festival under these circumstances.

Still planning to get my guitar Ya Ya's out at the B.I.G.(er) show next weekend!

A huge thank you to John Detrick for all his efforts in putting the Artisan show together. No doubt this was an extremely difficult decision but it had to be made. I was looking forward to getting together with everyone and showing my work to the East coast guys. Hopefully the show will be rescheduled, but first, let's all stay healthy!!

A intelligent decision made to reschedule the show, for me being 71 and with another health issue I was worrying about attending. Though I have a couple new guitars available to display and I will miss the show my and everyone's health is more important than a guitar show.

Hopefully LaConner and Woodstock can happen but with the spread of the virus nothing can be guaranteed.

Not questioning your decision. Everyone has to do what they think is prudent given the available information at hand.

How will you be processing refunds for current ticket holders?

Just wanted to say how happy I am with the decision to reschedule. Sad it needed to be that way. However, strikes me as a great example of taking responsibility and exhibiting selfless leadership. I will be looking forward to the show when rescheduled and I promise to buy a ticket. I hope the rescheduled show is a huge success and all parties recoup the losses from this unfortunate situation.

While I am glad they made the (appropriate IMO) decision, I'm not sure what "leadership" he thought was absent. I think the decision was rather apparent based on the extent of other events, sports leagues, schools, etc that all made the same already.

John sent content in an email to ticket holders, he is asking for a week to figure it all out:

"The hotel is developing options for alternative dates and we will react quickly when presented with those options. We will share the dates with you along with ticket options at that time. I expect a resolution by early next week.

Your specific hotel reservations have been canceled so you do not need to contact the hotel. If you still require those dates for other purposes, please contact the Best Western directly. Hotel management has been gracious about this situation and will extend our discounted room rate regardless of when we reschedule the event
."

I hope to roll the ticket over to the re-scheduled event and will wait for John to advise.

John,

THANK YOU for organizing the 2020 Artisan Guitar Show and for your wise decision to cancel (and hopefully reschedule). I had my tickets and was looking forward to my 1st show -- and plan on attending if/when it is rescheduled.

Take care,

Rick

I received an email about rescheduling the 2020 show:

Like everybody across the globe, we have been following the ever-changing news related to the coronavirus. And we've been thinking about and focusing on what is best for the Artisan Guitar Show in 2020 and beyond.

Our stance is that as a business invested in the guitar community (we genuinely value our relationship with partners, exhibitors, and presenters), we have to function as planned to move forward. Because of this, we've worked with the incredible team at Best Western Premier The Central Hotel & Conference Center to bring AGS to Harrisburg on August 21-23, 2020.

My question that I intend to ask is what if those dates conflict with some other appointment I have? Is a refund an option?
