Harald,

It is an amazing instrument. The bass is very tight and resonant. Amazing for such as small and narrow guitar. The trebles are glassy and thick. Not chimey at all as I have experienced with other small instruments. Lastly the fan fret design with 13 fret to the body neck is easy to play. Over all constrsuction is rock solid. Mr. Greenfield recommends 13-56 strings for this guitar. Also unusual. I have moonspruce/african blackwood. Highly recommended instrument. I don't know what his wait list is these days but the wait would be worth it.

Regards,
Eric

A G3.2 in ABW sounds like a lot of fun! I was really taken with Pipo Romero's G3.2 in Amazon and Italian spruce, it sounds wonderful!

Ha! Michael beat me to posting that video of Pipo. I had it copied and was ready to paste. It has such a lovely tone with very clear mids for a rosewood guitar. To think the guitar was brand new in those recordings as well...

Personally if it were me in your position I would do Italian/Alpine with a dryer wood for a little variance from your other spruce/rosewood guitars, but at the same time I understand when going with a builder like Michael you may as well not hold back Have fun, and enjoy in good health! You are incredibly fortunate to play such wonderful guitars.

With all due respect everyone on this forum, you've chosen a great builder who knows what he can get out of each model. Talk to Michael, trust Michael to recommend what will work best with that model.

Update: I took delivery of a G3 from Michael with Moon Spruce and African Blackwood. Started out very stiff as the wood still needed to learn how to be a guitar. In the past few months, the resonance and sustain have grown substantially causing me to become infatuated with it. It gives up nothing in all measures of perceived goodness to my larger 16 inch body guitars. Its 13 fret neck is so comfortable to play. The instrument is in regular rotation with my other guitars. I have to say every day the G3 is up, I really can't wait to get home.

Cincy
