It's between two:
Andres Segovia at A-very Fishy Hall*, 1978 +
Phil Keaggy at a local church, 1994

Bob

* Avery Fisher Hall, Lincoln Center, Manhattan (now David Geffen Hall) - the place where Bill Murray's character Peter Venkman duck walks across the plaza like Chuck Berry to impress Sigourny Weaver's Dana Barrett in Ghostbusters (1984).

+ I always liked his back line:

The one that first blew my mind was John Martyn, early '70s, and other than his set it wasn't even an acoustic show. I went that night to see Traffic, with Free as the opening band. (I know - what a lineup!) We didn't know there was a third act, and when we came in John was already playing - I could not believe what I was hearing from one guy sitting in a chair with an acoustic guitar. It was only much later that I found out he was using 2 Echoplexes - masterfully - to get that wild, haunting sound. It really opened my ears to acoustic possibilities.

Any John Denver concert of the 80s and 90s where it was just John and his guitars...almost heaven.

John Fahey in 1982 in a very small venue in Duvall, WA. It was stormy that night and the power went out. They just lit up some candles and he kept playing. It was great. The place was small enough that I was in the back and could hear just fine.

Leo Kottke multiple times. They were all good.

Doc and Merle Watson in about 1980 in Green Bay, Wi. Glad I got to see Doc and Merle together.

Dan Fogelberg - 1974. His equipment truck didn’t make it for some reason so he alternated between playing a piano and an acoustic guitar and sang his heart out.

Unplanned but an amazingly intimate evening.

Leo Kottke in the fall of 1982 and again around 1987. Both were free concerts. Also Tommy Emmanuel a few years ago in a small auditorium. That one wasn't free.
