Embryonic Journey by Jorma Kaukonen is in drop D. I learned it just by watching on youtube. Took me about 6 months to get it recordable on a 12-string, but I'm just an intermediate beginner....

I'm currently working on a couple of drop d tunes. Crow Jane, a Skip James song as taught by David Hamburger on UTube and Tamp'em Up Solid, an old Ry Cooder song. I do a version of Statesboro Blues in dropped d as well. I find dropped d an essential blues finger picking tuning.

It sure is! His arrangement of "If I Fell/In My Life" is nice too, also in drop d. Those are two that I already have.

QUOTE=MrBJones;6704062]I really like drop-d tuning though I only have a few songs in it. Any suggestions, where tab is available, and the arrangement is intermediate to early advanced?
Thanks![/QUOTE]

Guy Clark's"Desperados Waiting for a Train" is a drop D. Capo 1st Fret

Richard Thompson uses dropped D on "Beeswing" "Persuasion" both are Capo'd at the 3rd fret.

'Those Who Wait' is a great drop D tune by Tommy Emmanuel. Plus, there are several how to play it videos on YouTube.

Just doubling back on some earlier posts. John Denver used Drop D tuning a lot. Pete Huttlinger has a series of outstanding John Denver teaching videos with tab. John Denver #1 has "Rocky Mountain High", Michael Murphey's "Boy From the Country" and Steve Gillette's "Darcy Farrow". He teaches "My Sweet Lady" in standard tuning but I think Denver actually played it in Drop D too.

You can find the lesson at Homespun Tapes or on Pete's website. Here is a little snippet from youtube. The first piece is "Boy From the Country".
