Dwain frequently has them. If not, he's over at the factory all the time… shouldn't be a problem for him to get you one. Good guy too...

I got mine from Dwain as well. Above is the direct link.

Very important to use the ball end Allen on a Collings due to the angle.

4mm converts exactly to 5/32

Default Collings truss rod tool for 01

Reviving an old thread since I came across the same problem and found a couple of solutions.

I wanted to make minute adjustments to my Collings 01 while tensioned. The previous links all don't work. I'd been using a 5/32 allen but having to detension and re-tension was wasting a lot of string life. I finally found a tool that worked for me:

GrooveTech Soundhole Truss Rod Wrench - 4mm

https://www.sweetwater.com/store/det...rod-wrench-4mm

It's also available on Amazon, where one reviewer complained it's not really 4mm but 5/32, which is the size Collings uses. Indeed, measuring with calipers, it's much closer to 5/32 = 3.967 mm than 4.0 mm.

It has a 4" reach on the ball end side, a little shorter than the typical 5" ones I found which were too long for the 01. If you have a larger Collings, the 5" reach will work as well and this tool was one of the better deals I found:

Also, StewMac makes triple-bend truss rod soundhole wrenches that are 4mm, but they are too long to fit an 01.

I wanted one with a handle, it's such an awkward space to do adjustments with the smaller sound hole. I needed to be able to make minute adjustments to hit 0.004" of neck relief at the 5th fret, any higher and it feels like playing razor blades, rather "stiff" feeling.

Sorry it won’t work for you. I posted it so others would know it’s available again.

5/32 = 3.96875mm so pretty darned close.

The Larrivee size T2 worked great on the two Collings I used it on

I'm using the StewMac #6212 for my Collings D1. The triple bend ensures a straight engagement.

I have that one too, very solid tool. I really like the handle on that one, grippy so it doesn't accidentally slip and fall on the guitar top. The cruztools one is a little plasticky, relying mostly on indentations for grip.

I wished it worked on the 01, it backs up against the sound hole before it can engage the screw because the first bend is 5 3/4" (need it to be at most 5") and the third bend is 1 1/2" (need 1") , there isn't enough clearance behind the brace. Basically my problem due to to the guitar size. I think I'll keep it for now in case I get another Collings of a different size.

Thanks for posting this. I recently bought a Collings 0 and hadn't worked the truss rod question yet.
