Outdoor gig this morning, rain in the forecast...
Thanks heavens for carbon fiber guitars! We've had this gig booked for months and it's looking like the heavy rains from the last 24 hours will be subsiding but not without the threat of one more passing pop-up shower right about the time we'll be playing. Thankfully, I bought a quality pop-up tent last week (just in case) but most importantly I have two Emerald guitars on the wall to choose from! I think back to only a little over a year ago when I had nothing but high-end all-wood guitars on that wall. Between the Emeralds and the all-battery powered sound gear, we're ready to rock!

I like no excuses players, like yourself, who prepare for various playing situations by planning for and acquiring the necessary gear to help accomplish them.

Isn't that the reason John Decker invented the carbon fiber guitar in the first place? Sounds pretty appropriate...

All hail carbon fiber.......and wireless! It's almost like you're laughing back at mother nature. Hopefully she don't come at you with anything else.

A "No Worry" guitar, a tent, a battery, and a stalwart player. The good life.

Well, it didn't rain but it was freaking cold (around 45) PLUS very windy. I had to actually go into the woods and find large rocks to bungy to the sandbags anchoring my tent! More than a few tents lost their battle and flew today!!
The Emerald X7/dual Bose S1/Boss VE-8 combo performed very well. We dressed in layers and had chemical handwarmers which I could only use between sets but at least my skinny little zero-body-fat wife was able to keep hers in her gloves. So her hands were warm but she was chilled to her core by the end. I, on the other hand, am well insulated like a bear ready for hibernation! So it was just the hands for me. The upside to cold hands is that the sore fingertips don't bother you as much! Action photos from the gig: Killing it on the X7! |

I can tell, you're not having any fun at all. Thanks for the visuals. It's 80 degrees here--eat your heart out.

Kudos to you and your wife on toughing it out. Extra credit to you for the wearing the Santa Cruz hat while playing an Emerald...

It's really hard to play with the Emerald cup balancing on my head!
