Who to Trust for Bridge Repair
Have not struck this before so I hope you can help.
Recently bought a nice guitar (almost new but used and valuable) from a 'large chain store' only to find bridge needs work - its lifting slightly. Should I trust that the guitar will be good after this 'large chain' does such work? Should I expect short cuts or high integrity work? They are apparently authorized by the guitar manufacturer in question. |

Pretty vague.... My direct thoughts...
I wouldn't trust any of the local GC stores I have been in to do a proper bridge reglue. Factory authorized may not mean very much. Some factories have high standards for techs and others set the bar very low. Then there is the fact that any authorized retailer is often by default an authorized repair center without any further certification or questions.... |

Yep
Yep, as I was thinking.
Kind of stuck with the situation but I will keep your input in mind when assessing the work. Thanks Brian. Appreciate your thoughts. |

Hard call is it not, sometimes you cannot be picky and just have to use who is convenient for you, if money is not an issue which it always is, then you can see anyone to get it done, but most of the times it’s about convenience.
