Default Ancient Kauri / The Tree - Case of WAS

OK, I have a nasty case of Wood Acquisition Syndrome.

I've got enough Tortoiseshell Tree mahogany to last me the rest of my life…anyone have a Great set of Ancient Kauri they might be willing to trade. Not like the $300 a set stuff that's on Ebay right now, but really nice animated figure.

I thought GAS was a tough addiction!

I'd love to see pictures too! I love ancient Kauri. I have a guitar and uke made from it by Laurie Williams and it's a stunning wood to look at and Laurie sure makes great sounding instrument with it.

Kindly,
Danny

Might not be as nice as yours, Danny. I haven't seen it sanded and polished yet…hope to have it in the next couple of weeks and post some photos. It's tough to get the nice material out of the country. But this is looking pretty good to me.

I'd say! Wow, that is stunning! It's such an awesome wood. What are your plans with it?

WAS is way worse than GAS... as an example: I have customers who have over 100 guitars... and they actually play most of them. I on the other hand have enough wood to build 10 times that many and I have no illusions that I will ever use most of it... and I still buy more every chance I get...

Not sure yet, most likely leave it at Harv's place with a bunch of my Quilted Mahogany.

Yeah, having a bit of trouble securing it. LOL Some miscommunication, but still hopeful, it's a "joint venture". LOL

You like the curly or the pure whitebait?
