double espresso around 6 a.m., another around 10 a.m. Freshly ground beans that are roasted locally in a blend I created in consultation with the roaster and run through my Gaggia super automatic machine. Good stuff.

One and a half cups first thing in the morning. Folgers from the Mr Coffee. Around 10-11 or so, its one Diet Coke. Sometimes, if its cold out, Ill have another coffee round 8-9 PM for the warmth. I actually preferred tea most of life, but I am lured out of bed by the smell of coffee in the morning.

Hey Doug, I drink a single cup of instant every morning when I wake up. Just a single teaspoon of it. I usually end up microwaving it at least once during the morning while working. On week-ends I have half a K-cup from a Keurig.

Even though it doesn't sound like much coffee I need it and I thoroughly enjoy it.

Make 8 cups of fresh ground every morning, wife drinks 2 in the morning. I fill a Yeti thermos, (4 cups) with my mix and sip on it rest the day. Usually poor the remaining 2 cups over ice at lunch time. The thermos stays warm on all day and gets nursed along. I add a peanut sized chunk of honey, and a thimble sized shot of half and half to my 4 cups. Cuts the acidity and tames the bitterness, love it!

~24oz within the first hour of waking up.

If it’s going to be a late night, more around lunchtime (or Diet Cokes). If I want to get to sleep at a reasonable hour, I generally avoid any afternoon caffeine.

Not sure if you asked, but black. Hot or iced, it’s black.

Sweden is number two in the world when it comes to consuming coffee (i think our Finland is number 1).
Black & dark roasted straight up is what we drink.
My day starts up with four cups of black coffee. I have an automatic machine with a built in grinder.
During they day i turn to espressos and thats it.

I used to have a Gaggai with a stand alone grinder but after a couple of years with all the work ever cup required i became a bit lazy and went for a solution without portafilter.

From 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Probably 8 cups. I drink all day long. I'm always brewing and often saving in the new fancy thermos for the next day. Hard to say exactly how much; but, a lot in general.

I do blend in about 25% decaf, since I also brew a fairly strong mix.

And I usually blend 2 types of regular. So 3 different coffees total. I enjoy sampling different boutique brands. They are always on sale these days (e.g. $10/lb instead of $15).

I used to do bird work and nature-guide training on sustainable coffee farms in Nicaragua. Maybe this is why I drink all day long...... I'm off to do some local bird work this morning (it's 4:19) and I am just about done with cup 1 of what will be a few more than usual...

John

Most Americans/Canadians get a large portion of their antioxidants from coffee consumption. Based on the amount of coffee people are drinking they have nothing to worry about.

Half caff at home at 8:00am
Decaff and sometimes full caff at work 9:30 am
Full caff at about 2:00pm
Half caff at about 6:00pm

Not terrible. Not great, but not terrible. I used to drink more and I have cut it back a lot.

I've gone a couple of days in a row now without the afternoon coffee and I'm feeling better and sleeping better. I subbed in some fruit as a pick-me-up instead of coffee. Just my two cups in the morning now. I cannot survive without those!

Yea, caffeine in the afternoon can bother some people with sleep. If you feel you need something to drink in the afternoon try a decaf or 50/50.

We usually make it 1/3 decaf, 2/3 regular. We make 2 12-cup pots a day. My wife has 2 or 3 cups a day, and I have the rest, with the last couple of cups within a couple of hrs of going to bed. I sleep like a stone.

2 cups in the morning after rising...I greet the day and do some reading...

1 more cup after breakfast, a couple more mid afternoon, and the last one after dinner...

Maxwell House med roast made with my old school percolator...

No cream, no sugar, no flavorings, because I actually enjoy the taste and aroma of coffee...
