Thank you! Caught some nice wintry afternoon sunlight to shoot into the other day . . .

This thread has been quiet for a while!

These are some recent shots of a local pond gradually waking up from winter here in Minnesota.

I go past it every day on my walk, and usually have a camera with me (Sony RX100iii, or Sigma sd Quattro)

What the heck is the scale of that?? Is it wee, like a couple of inches. Big - like 2 metres?

This one is about 12 inches long - 30cm.

Here's an internet picture of someone holding one - I wouldn't pick one up, I don't know what I'm doing and wouldn't like to accidentally harm one. (unlike Steve Irwin who learnt the hard way!)

Thanks for that! It's a 25 image focus stack. I noticed the sun was shining through the petals and *ran* to grab the tripod and camera...haha.

I'm fortunate to live within walking distance of one of Minnesota's 11,842 lakes.

But, one of the things I've never been very good at is getting up in the morning.

One morning recently, I forced myself out of bed before sunrise, drove to the lake, and discovered, to my disappointment that what I thought was East, was actually not where I expected it to be.

I was happy to salvage the morning with these two shots.
