Gorgeous Guitars, RP! Congrats. Two of the finest dreads available by any maker IMHO. One thing I’ve noticed about Martin dreads...the enjoy having a Gibson in the family.

I've gone back and forth. I think I was done with Taylor for good until they released the GP series. I think that the 717 is the perfect guitar for me and for my style, but you are 100% correct that Martin's are just deeper and more bold sounding.

Those are awesome! Enjoy them! I want to get another Martin dread at some point, and it will probably be a Custom 18 style of some sort. I just want to find one in the wild and not just order online like I always do.

I must admit for a while I was in the, "What's the big dean?" category. Especially after visiting a Guitar Center and playing every Martin dread they had on the wall and seriously disliking them! But that was about 10 years ago when I really didn't know that GC never changed the strings on the guitars on the wall.

Now I am the very proud owner of 2 (see signature) and couldn't be happier!

They have a voice that is vibrant, rich and rewarding to hear.

Best,
PJ
