Hi there

I say go for it! The quest for guitars must go on!
I'll be your age in about 15 years & I will certainly be disappointed if I'm not still thinking about new guitars, vintage guitars & playing music then.

Have fun

Slim

Eyesore, you are too old for such things!
Buy yourself a pipe and carpet slipper, a walker and put a handle on the inside of your shower cubicle.

I am now 71, shortly to become 72 (God willin' and the creek don' rise).

I have three dreads, a jumbo, a 000, an 00, l-oo, two 12s, a national, Dobro a banjo and a mandolin, but I don't pay out so much now.

However, last week I bought this Eastman parlour :

As you can see from the size - I'm cutting down!

You raise a question that I ask. I turn 65 in a few weeks. A small body guitar is bleeping on my radar right now. Let me know what you buy.

Oscillating between the Taylor 322CE and a more conservative spending choice of the Alvarez MPA66ESHB.

I’m older than you and my attitude is — I’d better do it now!

I’m 61. A Fairbanks is to be delivered around June 1st. This will be my last new guitar. If I buy anything else it’ll be to resell after fixing it up (something I enjoy doing). The only guitar I can imagine buying for me from here out is a small bodied guitar if my shoulder tells me I need it, but my Martin LXK2 may be good enough at that point.

I’m just playing from here out.

66 here, and I just bought another guitar - but far from downsizing, I've gone super jumbo! Got an Epiphone EJ600CE, and I absolutely love it!

I will be 61 in February, and having hip surgery Monday. At the moment I am thinking what kit guitar I want to build. Also what motorcycle mod I want to make this spring.

Too old? Are you kidding? I just got a new Eastman (excellent) and I'm looking for another Yairi. Don't let your age define you. I will be getting a new knee on Monday, will turn 70 in February and looking forward to a lot of good years, playing guitar, and a lot of other stuff.

What is now my favorite of my guitars was also the most expensive and bought as a present to myself for my 60th birthday. I play more now than I ever did due in part to the excellent smaller body guitars I've bought in the last few years. Never too old so go for it and be delighted that you have the income to do it and ability to play! I'm 63 and I approved this message.
