They're gorgeous for fingerstyle ... more airy and you can almost hear an echo ... I get captivated by it ... so much so that I often forget where I am in a song. I like it especially with a slower tempo.

they are really great a fingerstyle. same scale length as the nightingale and with such a tight upper bout and bevek, it feels like a smaller guitar, but with a bigger, deeper, cavernous sound

Thanks Raggamuffin and John. I've not yet played a live Ryan, but all I've heard from recordings, videos, and all the owners here, says this is going to be one of those very special endearing instruments I'm going to love to grow old with.

same here! this thread inspired me to break out my Cathedral. every time i play my Ryan, I fall in love with guitar all over again! David, you are in for a treat!

It looks beautiful ... and I'm sure it will sound even better.

I fall in love with my Ryans all over again each time I play them. You would think I'd get used to it after having played it hundreds of hours, but I still think "Wow!" when I look at it and play it. Lately, it's been the NGS, especially after I took off the Elixir trial set (Lights) and put John Pearse 80/20s (New Mediums) back on ... the guitar shines with the Pearse ... I just wish they'd last longer.
