Sold! -- 2007 Martin D-16RGT
I have here for sale my 2007 Martin D-16RGT. I purchased this guitar from a friend who plays mandolin and inherited it from his dad. The minute I played it I loved the full bell-like overtone rich, huge sound, and the ringing sustain. The tone exceeded that of two HD-28's I'd previously owned and sold. This is one of those guitars that just has it and makes me smile every time I play it. I just hate having to sell it.
This is the last guitar I'm selling to accommodate the space requirements of my new but smaller (no kids) pre-retirement home. I'm keeping the 2 or 3 guitars I play the most. Three of my original collection have been sold. This is the last that must go. This guitar has a very comfortable modified low oval neck, a 1 11/16 nut, a 2 1/8 string spacing at the bridge. Neck relief is .008” at the 7th fret. Low E string action at the 12th fret is 7/64” and 5/64” high E string. There's plenty of saddle to sand down (5/32”) if you want to lower the action. The guitar is in clean good condition with a few minor indents and a couple of finish blemishes on the lower bout that you have to look for to see a beautiful aged amber nicely grained Sitka top. It's Martins lower priced version of the D-28 due to their use of some synthetic materials (richlite bridge & fretboard), satin finished body, and basic Martin TKL case. Had I not read about this, I would never have known this was not simply some version of Martin's standard series. Upgrades worth apx. $300, include: Bone nut, saddle, slotted bridge with solid bone pins, Grover 18/1 StaTight open backed tuners (original Martin tuners will be included in the case), K&K Pure Western Mini passive pickup installed. Asking $1295 to be paid via PayPal invoice. INCLUDES FREE SHIPPING!

This guitar sings...It compares favorably to any HD-28 with the same wood combination I've played but with the 1 11/16" nut for those who prefer that...at a much better price point.

If you're looking for lush rich loud HD-28 and prefer a 1 11/16" nut, but don't want to pay the price, this guitar will make you happy as it has me. I'm open to offers.
