What do you listen to...
that is out of your wheelhouse? Last night it was "Nights in the Gardens of Spain" by Manuel de Falla. So far today it was a video of Samantha Fish burning down "In My Time of Dying."

No one? Wow...
Was listening to this last night. I know that one tends to think of the Rolling Stones as a guitar band, but...

Well, I did listen to that video. (OK, I skipped ahead a couple times, lol.) But really, I just do not do a lot of listening to music. I did my listening back in the sixties and seventies, lol. Occasionally Mrs. Cougar and I will trade picking out different music vids on youtube, so I'm listening there. But that's not all that often. I ran into Dead South that way.......

I listen to a variety of music often. Western classical music is my favorite (orchestra, piano and guitar mainly).
Also a variety of other music including fingerstyle, pop, jazz, eastern music, etc..

I listen more than I play on average, since I am average and a lot is outside my wheelhouse. I cover a lot of genres and try to expand more in recent years.
Getting back into 1980s which is more synth based but listening closer to the notes and progressions.

Between my wife, daughter and I, there’s always something playing in the house. But my deep dive listening usually happens when at the gym or going for a walk.
I Try to find something new every week. No set genre, but over the years i have collected an eclectic mix of Americana, rock, folk, Funk, punk….etc. being a hobbiest song writer I love anything that spins a good yarn. The latest addition is Holly Williams, grand daughter of the late great Hank Williams. Nice voice cool lyrics and catchy melodies,

If I knew what you meant by "out of your wheelhouse", I might have a solid answer for ya.

Very interesting video.
Unfortunately I do not listen to music at all, since I started practising a lot. Maybe I should give it another try.

However, I listen to a wide variety including electric and acoustic guitar blues, bluegrass and old time, instrumental fingerstyle guitar, classic rock, prog rock, heavy metal, Texas country and classic outlaw country, east coast and southern style rap/hip-hop, a little bit of classical, and some jazz.

I'll just start with someone I like to listen to while working
it can't be distracting, so like Robin Trower, SRV, and Deep Purple is not gonna work for me. love that stuff - but. I'm a big Spotify fan, and listen to mostly any and all sorts acoustic solo music. It's nutty how many players/composers are out there

I like to listen to classical, particularly JS Bach. Hoping some of that juju rubs off on me.

I listen to XM satellite radio, especially the Tom Petty’s Buried Treasure channel. He plays (played) only stuff from his own record collection, and it’s very eclectic. It is astounding to me how closely his musical tastes match my own. He was a fabulous DJ, and it’s truly a tragedy that he’s no longer with us. I think he did 250 or more shows before his untimely death.
