I would have thought that "new things" is precisely what devotees of Martin do not want. The appeal is in the traditional, 'how-we've-always-done-it' model, isn't it?

Maybe they're not trying to appeal to devotees?

With the introduction of the authentics, apparently they can improve on the 'how-we've-always-one-it' manufacturing. And their new neck joint system is one of the most advanced designs. So they are taking the 'both-and' approach.

Hoping a revision of the 15 series with additional small offerings with varied 12 fret specs

I'd like to see an upgrade to the 000-15sm like a 000-18sm???

A satin Ambertone 40-Series could be one sweet-looking guitar, really bringing out the abalone border inlay...

Well, I'm certainly not a devotee, but if a Martin were on my horizons, one of the main reasons for buying it would be to get a classic American Martin guitar such as was played by any number of greats. I would think many prospective buyers would feel the same way.

Word on the street is, Martin will be announcing its revolutionary new Q-bracing, which solves all the intonation problems guitars have ever had plus it makes you look 20 years younger and comes with a coupon for a dream vacation for two.
