Default Who is going to Artisan Guitar Show - April 14-16 Harrisburg, PA?

I am planning on attending. This will be my 5th time. It is a very well run show that all occurs entirely at the Best Western Premier Central Hotel & Conference Center. Aside from exhibitors (below), there are a variety Master Classes and Performances (this is still being finalized). Harrisburg is about 2-hours from Philadelphia or Baltimore and 3-hours from New York City and Washington DC.

Would love to go, but I am unclear about something. Dates say 14th through the 16th, but I din’t see tickets for Friday. Is the exhibit hall not accessible on the 14th? I much prefer to go to shows like this on a Friday to avoid the noise and crowds of the weekend.

I usually go but do not commit ahead, just in case something unavoidable comes up.

(Later)... I now have tickets for Saturday.

Friday afternoon is really when the exhibitors set up. That evening there is a reception with musical performances and an hors d'oeuvres.

Ah, got it, thanks! Might be worth the VIP just for the Friday night access.

Mary and I have exhibited at every show there since inception and we will be there again this year. Hope y'all will stop by our table and visit.

Mikealpine, if this is your first show there you will be amazed at how well organized the show is run and the openness of the venue. Its more spacious than any show we have attended and not at all claustrophobic like some other show spaces have been. Friday's VIP event is more intimate and attendance is limited to provide those VIP guests with an even more private experience. This is a first class event that must be attended to be fully appreciated as I am sure others can attest to.

Thank, Tim! I have visions of Woodstock, not being able to move or hear anything, so that’s my hesitation. Lemme check with my better half and see if she’d like to attend. If not, I may see about breaking away.

Every show has its pluses and minuses, and let’s just say that the exhibition hall at the Artisan show isn’t as “intimate” as the two exhibition halls at Woodstock. Even in the exhibition hall, there’s a lot more room to speak with the luthiers and try instruments, and the hall acoustics are better—the noise levels are not as high. I believe that there are also private rooms where you can demo guitars. In addition to a lot of amazing acoustic guitars, if you even have a passing interest in archtop guitars, the Artisan show has more of those than other shows I attended this year (Artisan, Fretboard Summit and Woodstock). It’s a great show if you can make it.

Hoping I can make it, Fred. Absolutely loving the OM I first tried at last year's Artisan Guitar Show and ultimately picked up at the Fretboard Summit!
