Default Here I am [original song]

This is something I wrote this weekend. The recording is pretty average but I am actually happy with the song - first time I can say that for a while. I try to write something every week.

This is in DADGAD capo on 2 and I used my 000-28 because I happened to write it using that guitar - albeit I think my OM or dread would record better especially in the dropped tuning. But I do love this guitar and it helped me write the song so…

Thanks for listening.

Excellent Coler. Can I hear a Richard Thompson influence on the guitar?

Lyrics are great but vocal melody is where this really shines for me. It's a beauty.

Thank you Neil - good question about RT - I have listened to a lot from him and if anything rubbed off I'll take it!

Thanks for listening (again!).

More than one person in the factory was having a very, very good day when they made that Martin - I've never heard or played a better 000-28 of any flavour.

That's a really good song. I think the guitar sounds great - the rosewood shimmer works well with those picked chords.

Note to self - don't get rosewood GAS....

Thanks very much - that's a very, very good 000-28 - it even holds up well here in the dropped tuning. I really think they might be Martin's best model (personal opinion).

Thanks for taking a listen Unusually, I quite like the last two I wrote (this one and another called When you go (think of me) that I posted in a separate thread. That one has got some attention over here, with the Irish theme. There has been some interest in taking it off my hands and recording it so we’ll see what happens.

This is after a patchy run of stuff that was kind of ok to bad. The more I write the better I get! It’s an interesting process though. I find if I have a song in my head I had better write it, and get it out of my system, whether it is good/bad/indifferent.

I guess they all somehow feed into each other and it’s a progression over time.

I enjoy it anyway! Thanks again for listening

This is excellent.

it's a gift if you are able to write something once a week.

if you're writing things like that? that's exceptional.
