2006 Martin 000-18 Golden Era Sunburst (SOLD)
First year production 000-18GE Sunburst. Much praise for these guitars has been posted to various guitar forums. They rank high in Martin’s Golden Era / Marquis line and have become increasingly hard to find after being discontinued in 2013. Production totaled 842 right handers over an 8-year run.
Awesome tone, excellent playability. Very good condition. A few small dings on the top and back which I’ve captured in the photo link below. The top on this guitar is especially nice—one of the few ‘bursts I’ve seen with bearclaw. The tonewood combination offers the chimey articulation of Adirondack spruce with the dry directness of mahogany. I never get tired of hearing this guitar. I bought this guitar locally from the original owner several years ago. In addition to a set-up with medium-low action, the original owner had a strap button and LR Baggs I-Beam pickup professionally installed. These are the only modifications. This guitar has even, balanced tone and considerable bass response for a small-bodied guitar. Trebles are bright but not spanky. I’ve achieved the best tone from 80/20 bronze light gauge strings, which it wears now. I love this guitar’s easy playability and accurate intonation. There is nothing a new owner would need to do except play it! $3,200 (net to me) plus shipping. https://photos.app.goo.gl/pU9F6BrzokHN7YDu7 Top: Solid Adirondack Spruce Back: Solid Genuine Mahogany Back Purfling: Solid Brazilian Rosewood Strip Sides: Solid Genuine Mahogany Body Size: 000-14 Fret Construction: Mahogany Blocks/Dovetail Neck Joint Rosette: Old Style 18 Top Bracing: Standard ''X'' Scalloped (Golden Era Style), Solid Adirondack Spruce 1/4'' Pickgaurd: Delmar Tortoise Color – Beveled & Polished Binding: Tortoise Brown Neck Material: Select Hardwood Neck Shape: Modified V w/ ‘30s Style Heel Nut Material: Bone Nut Width: 1-3/4'' Fingerboard: Solid Black Ebony Scale Length: 24.9'' Headplate: Solid Brazilian Rosewood – Golden Era Style Heelcap: Solid Black Ebony Finish Back & Sides: Polished Gloss Finish Top: Polished Gloss w/ 1935 Sunburst Finish Neck: Satin Tuning Machines: Nickel Open-Geared w/ Oval Buttons Bridge Material: Solid Black Ebony Bridge Style: 1930s Style Belly w/ Long Saddle Saddle: 16'' Radius / Long Bone Bridge & End Pins: Solid Black Ebony Interior Label: Signed by CFM IV Case: 533E Geib Style Hardshell
