Default "Behind Every Beautiful Thing" DADGAD original w/ Lowden f-23

Hey all,

I've spent the last 2 1/2 years working this one out. I originally wrote a majority of this tune with a Lowden F-25 (cedar/rosewood) and have never been fully satisfied playing this tune on anything but cedar-topped Lowdens. It's a strange thing, just feels right. The Lowden in this video is a 1999 F-23 (cedar/walnut) and it's just a soulful instrument.

I'm beyond grateful for the world of fingerstyle guitar in that I don't always need to rely on my words - they'd fall short if I tried to explain this piece and where/when it originated. Hopefully it makes sense to someone, somewhere.

Thanks as always for listening!

Good job and thanks for sharing. Cedar tops do have their own tonal thing going on.

Lovely, as usual, Dustin. A beautiful tune, some very interesting voicings there...

And ya know I gotta love cedar-top Lowdens!

Thanks Matt! Admittedly it’s a lot easier to play on the Beneteau’s, because of their wider and slimmer necks. The Lowden’s voice for DADGAD is just so hard to beat!

Very, very nice, Dustin! I really enjoyed that! And I do agree with you that the piece sounds lovely on that Lowden with its cedar top!

That is a complex piece. I can see why you have spent so much time working on this! Well done!!
