Really looking forward to the sequel thread to your previous Kostal thread. Have you considered perhaps a 12 fret mod dread from Jason? Or perhaps a non cutaway mod d?

Brian, now I have more choices! I would love that as well!

I have to focus. For this particular build I do want a small body with tons of focus, balance, and projection. Looking for an OM or a 00

So just for fun, sorry if I forgot your names or misrepresenting your thoughts, but trying to see what direction to take this build:

Justonwo OM
ZekeM OM
USBChord OM
Racman OM

BilyBoy 00
Jasonechoi 00
me for now 00 (but changes each day!)
Racman OM
Japple 00

How about a 13 fret 00. Been a big fan of those lately.

This is funny.... I'm having the exact dilemma with my Slobod build. For months. I think it might be time to start a thread. . .

I'll add a vote for OM. It sounds like Jason has had a lot more practice with the OM size than the 00. It can be exciting to be a part of something new, but I'd rather go with something a luthier has refined over the course of multiple instruments, than pick something brand new that he is quite likely still tweaking and refining (not to say that luthiers don't continually refine their methods, just that new body shapes involve more trial-and-error).

Yeah, that was one of my thoughts, too. Of course, Jason has a rep for being an incredibly talented builder, though! Do we know what scale length the 00 will have? If it's 25.0, I'm putting myself even further in the OM camp.

Not sure about the 00 scale, but his standard OM is 25.0. Does that change any opinions?

Not for me! Somogyi OMs are 25.0 and I don't feel they are loosing anything in power or projection.

oh, I thought that you wouldn't like a 25 scale on a 00

I don't know if the overall sound changes much between Jasons Mod D and OM since there is not a significant size difference. The overall length is 0.75" different, body is 0.5", upper bout 0.25", lower bout 0.1", depth at end is 0.75". I would think that overall, not much sound difference. What would be interesting to me is Mod D with short scale.

You're right, I would be a little timid asking for 25.0 on a 00. I probably wasn't clear enough on that. I do like the 25.0 on the OM, though.

Default A new Journey in Life, a new guitar, a new Kostal! Brazilian/German ???

25" OM sounds perfect to me. I got one in the works right now like that.

Would both choices be 14 frets to body?

I'm not usually a 12th fret person, but I'm open to something new. We are still exploring a few options. An exciting journey indeed!
