Default just watched "Dr. No" in 4k UHD on Amazon Prime

I don't have a 4k TV... But man! the word "remastered" doesn't even begin to describe how beautiful it is! I was mesmerized by little things like the green glass lampshades when Bond went to visit M!

I watch with a new 4k with picture enhancements. Some of the videos of old are like watching as never seen before. That along with surround audio and I don't ever see me in a movie theater again.

There was a time I would have argued that there is nothing like seeing a movie on the big screen in a theater that has a great sound system. The Ziegfeld Theater in NYC comes to mind (Seen Star wars, the original Hobbit, Pink Floyd, The Wall, and many more there).

But these day the home theater experience can rival the best (now gone) movie theaters. Plus there is better pop corn at home.

My parents took me to see Dr. No in 1962 in a theater in St.Catherines on a family trip (one of very few) to Niagara Falls...

4k won't rescue any of the James Bond movies starring Roger Moore.

Sean Connery was/is the only real 007. He had a great run.

And no annoying people, no people to annoy if you feel like yelling at the TV, the ability to pause to go refill or go to the restroom, rewind or slow mo to your hearts content....I could go on and on.

I don't hate Lazenby. He could have carried on as Bond and made me happy.

And I don't blame Moore for what he did. They knew what they were getting with him. He's just recycling The Saint. Did they think he would do something else?

But Connery is definitely Bond.

That's funny though that was my teenage years so I have a soft spot for that bond era.

Ditto. My first in theatre Bond movie was The man with the golden gun. It was not until a few years later I went back to the beginning with Sean. But I enjoyed the Roger Moore movies.

Pretty cool in 4K, but still a very lame 007 movie. Things get better striating with Goldfinger.
