I love Kathy too much to have picked out the 2020 date LOL. I need to get through this one and see if I still have a life partner and if so, consider 2020. You have a spot for next year if it happens, no worries. I appreciate your support. And those cats, what can ya do.

Sub par builds would be from NON AGF sponsors at other much less exclusive and up close shows/events.

That is what I was trying to convey...

Totally agree, there will be no hiding here LOL! I can't wait to try your Maple Round Top beast with bevels on top of bevels!!! It may be so comfortable, I might fall asleep playing it, have a feeling I will be running on empty by the end of the weekend!!! I am so glad you decided to come, bringing friends, and playing for us!

It's been about a month since the last coat of Varnish went onto the 2 single 0's I plan to bring to B.I.G. So today I finessed the surface on the Pernambuco one and am about to glue the neck to the body. This penambuco is darker than any I've used before, and is likely to appeal to a more mainstream audience because of that, I figure. Beyond that, this particular neck mahogany (same billet for both necks) has some color appeal in it that just tickles me silly.

Ought to be strung in 3 days or so.

I agree, that neck is beautiful, such depth. I can't wait to try these out, if I am allowed LOL.

It is starting to get pretty exciting. Have been in Texas the last few days, did some ordering of chairs and tables, bought some adult beverages, additional landscaping in the concert area should commence this week...no going back now!

Well Tom, if you decide to cancel the party, at least your backyard will have benefitted from all your labors.
Interesting winter weather in Texas, eh?

A quick shot of our first guitar slated for B.I.G. Went out to our finish ace yesterday, and we're pretty hopeful about making it in time.

IMG_2656.jpg

This 00 cutaway has a Carpathian spruce top, with really curly Honduran Mahogany back, sides and neck. Bindings are Amazuran rosewood. (Rare cross between Amazon and Honduran. Actually, sold as Honduran, looks a bit more like Amazon, would take a forest lab expert to settle the debate.) Headplate and bridge are Brazilian, and we're certain on that. If you are coming to BIG, keep your fingers crossed for this guy's timely completion!

Another great new word! Amazuran!

And yes, Tony is certainly a Finish Wizard...

My fingers are crossed. Hope to see it and looking way forward to seeing you gentlemen too! As well as so many righteous AGF folks.

Cheers

Paul

I sure hope it's ready. There's nothing better than a great 00.

Not sure you should quote me just yet Paul. Some will claim it's Hondurazon.
We'll have to wait for the experts to weigh in.

Thanks for posting and building that OO. Having the first OO you ever built (thanks Bob RIP), I can attest it is a great size, so comfortable to hold and play as it is smaller and yet, wonderful sound emerges from it as it does not have that small boxy sound sometimes attributed to smaller body guitars. This is a dread in a small package! Nice bass, beautiful trebles, the whole package.

So lovely to see at least one of what you are bringing!!!! Go Tony go!!!

Everything is coming into place. Travel arrangements are being made. Rented chairs so folks can have a place to sit haha. Food all set, tables, beverage coolers, guitars being made, divorce papers being drafted (well not yet, she is still hanging in there so far)....

Just a few days left and a few spots to sign up....
