Will be very exciting to hear this. Mike has previously been under my radar but I've played a few of his guitars over the last few months and I have been very impressed indeed by the tone; modern, but with very "sweet" trebles rather than bright and zingy/glassy.

Cheers,
Steve

Roy,

That's an awesome looking piece of Blue Spruce you've got there. This is looking to been another Baranik masterpiece! Looking forward to seeing your guitar come together - thanks for posting!

Yeah, that wood looks stellar. You are going to love this guitar. What made you select these woods, by the way?

Juston, I must admit that your Meridian had a large part in peaking my interest in these woods.

However Mike also suggested this combination during our discussions which then sealed my decision. He only had one piece of Black Cocobolo left and was going to try and source a great piece of Blue Spruce for me so that was not firm until recently.

I really enjoyed following Juston's build thread when his guitar was being crafted, and I'm glad you've started your thread on your new guitar. The Black Cocobolo looks amazing...really amazing. And I love the Colorado Blue Spruce. Congratulations on being able to put this together, and thank you for sharing it with us!

Wow! I'm sure that this will be one fantastic sounding instrument!

"Thanks" for the case of GAS! My next Baranik might well be very similar to my Meridian, but with slightly shorter scale and the neck dimensions of my CX.

Well it's only fair that you get a dose of GAS from this thread as I recall your Meridian build thread inducing a serious dose of Baranik GAS as well...

I think the wood combination of Spalted Manchinga inner sides with the Black Cocobolo is inspired. This is going to be awesome:

I love the spalted inner sides - my Meridian has spalted higuerilla inners, and it looks great when you glimpse it through the soundhole or port.

Really looking forward to seeing this one coming together! Mike's Meridian is a superb instrument.
