Yes, it would be wrench to move my Hamblin on - it would probably be the last to go. They're awesome guitars - I was sorely tempted to spring for the ziricote GC that became yours! - and the more rare now that Kent is no longer building. Incidentally, Mike Baranik and Kent Hamblin are great friends, and I was lucky enough to meet them both in person here in England when they were over for an event at the Acoustic Music Company in Brighton. I've had a Mod-D-shaped hole in my collection since I first played a Somogyi MD six years ago but Tom Sands is the first builder whose Mod-D really worked for me, coupling that huge bass with a really sweet treble. I figured I would commission one while his prices are still very reasonable. I just can't afford to add another guitar though, so one or two of mine will need to move on... Incidentally Richard Thomas, who reviewed my Hamblin GC for Acoustic Magazine, owns a lovely Baranik Meridian. Cheers, David P.S. Fantastic to hear you're still loving your Wolfram slide!

Sound Clip, Finally!
As promised, I am finally posting a sound clip of my 2013 Baranik Meridian. This is my poor man's attempt at Stephen Wake's lovely arrangement of "Star of the County Down" in CGDGCD. There is no EQ applied and only a modicum of reverb. I recorded this in my den at home.

You're doing well John. Your Meridian pairs with Matthew's and your CX pairs with mine (and Al's)! We need a 'matching Baraniks' thread.

So sweet, Coco Kid! Your playing and guitar both sound great.
Funny thing, last night I had a dream about Mike Baranik, a guy I’ve never met in the flesh. I log on today and find this. It’s clearly a sign, of what, I’m not so sure. All the best to all you other lucky Baranik players!!

Bonus Sound Clip Added
Thanks Steve, Nemoman, Matthew, Deft Tungsman and Matt (rlxnply) for listening and for the kind words of encouragement.
Since I already had my mics set up, and had some time this afternoon, I decided to add another sound clip, this time in DADGAD. I typically leave the Meridian in DADGAD and it sounds great in that tuning. This is William Coulter's stellar arrangement of Si Bheag Si Mhor. I recorded my first take so my playing is not the best, and I am certainly still learning about recording. Again, no EQ added and just a bit of reverb. If you just jumped to the end, here is the first sound clip, my attempt at Stephen Wake's lovely arrangement of "Star of the County Down" in CGDGCD. Cheers!
