Default Case sides

I've got the sides cut out and can do a fitting and I can also measure where to cut the lid:

So far so good. The sides are cut proud so I can level them out nicely before I set in the top and back.

Thanks for following along!

I like it. The do you plan to veneer the sides.

Thanks John, Venner would be an option. My plan for this one is to simply paint it black like they used to.

Thanks Tom! It’s a fun build. I’m anxious to put the strings on and play it.

Default Headstock

I've been coming along nicely getting the French polish done. Here are a couple pictures of how the headstock will look:

You’re welcome Wayne, thanks for commenting. It’s nice to get so much support from my fellow builders on a new model and concept!

Default Finished the Finish

The finish is on and today I glued on the bridge. Next week we'll have strings on this guitar!

I now have an image of the Platonic Ideal: visually, this is officially my dream guitar. I'm dying to hear how it sounds!

I don't recall seeing the scale on this one. 00s are often short scale - is that the case here?

Thanks Stan,

Yes, it is a short scale (25”). Thanks for the Platonic Ideal comment. That gave me pause to think about my approach to building this guitar. Early on in this thread I said I was trying to show “the art of the guitar not art on a guitar”. I realize this whole build was not so much an act of creativity as it was a process of discovery. Thanks for that!
