Currently listening to Clive Carroll "Furthest Tree." The disc is hard to find but he can be heard streaming. Clive carries Renbourn's torch; he is that good.

Thanks so much Tom! I love the horns on that one, it’s the spirit to cure snowed in for one month here!

For the last several weeks, I keep going to Richard Shindell. If you enjoy the acoustic sound of a good ole J45 or D18, you will love his playing. Hit style is dead on, flawless and simply brilliant. His voice is a perfect addition to his impressive picking. Check out his “home made” unplugged videos on YouTube like his "Fenario" here. A great example of a DADGAD tune.

Saw "Bohemian Rhapsody" with my sons two weeks ago. Really enjoyed the movie. Of course the content was adapted for Hollywood, but the band members were fine with the changes. Watched their Live Aid Concert this am. Mercury was such an amazing talent, and the connection between the band and their fans is so positive and moving.

Wilco: A.M.
1995/ 2017 double vinyl reissue Richard Manuel’s “Tears of Rage” is quoted in the liner notes, and the music fits the folk rock tradition - for some reason the lame modern rock radio stations in my area in the 1990s didn’t play this band. Now I’m catching up. Great stuff. |
