This is a great reminder that those at highest levels are there for a reason.

No....he ran, they ran. He is no where near an elite track sprinter. He IS an elite NFL receiver. Give him his due for going out and trying.

Yeah. Remember the Renaldo Nehamia experiment? Staying in your lane is usually a good idea... You know someone is out when they get them Gator Arms...

I ran track in HS. Was a one-trick pony, the 100-yard dash was my event.

Ran an 11.1 once, best time ever for me. But note that I ran YARDS, not these sissy METERS that they run these days.

Harrumph. Get offa my lawn!

Something like "World's fastest human" Herb Washington, getting picked off first base, in as a pinch runner for the A's against the Dodgers ! Its on Youtube but it's locked so I can't link it.

Okay... He came in last. Did you see how tight the pack was? And then look at him physically next to the winner!

Well to be fair, speed in football and speed in track are two different things. These sprinters actually train to run faster and they train quite a lot. I doubt DK actually trains to run faster for football.

Perhaps if you let him train like the sprinters, he would do better.

And if he was 3 inches shorter and 60 lbs lighter he would be going to Japan! Frankly the pro runners should be kind of stunned that he could have tagged most of them if he was next to them!

He actually held up pretty well over the first 40m. The real sprinters began to pull away from him after that, and the top guys were .2 sec faster by the end.

Metcalf has excellent speed and elite power/explosiveness, but he has never trained for track, and he lacks elite top level speed and the ability to hold it. The 100m is really all about top end speed and how long you can hold it. Even the elite sprinters start decelerating beginning around 60-70m, Metcalf just never hit quite the same top speed and started decelerating earlier.

Still, 10.3ish is very respectable and he should be proud.

Cool Hmmmmmm.....

Metkalf stood up too soon after take off....the training of a wide receiver? Now you take the elite NFL receivers, put them on that starting line, and see how Metkalf fares!

In Track you try not to run into anyone. As Yakov Smirnoff would say "In NFL every one tries to runs into you!"

Well, all I can say is that he fared better in his attempt at crossing over then another wide receiver did ten years ago:
