That’s a lovely guitar, I like all of your specifications. From the photos, it looks like quite a deep body, that appeals to me, too. Congrats!

Fantastic! I've heard nothing but amazing things about both Tim and Mary and their guitars. Sounds like you've found your lifer.

Congratulations on your McKnight guitar and great choice in wood for the top, back and sides. Although I don't own one I've never played one that didn't sound super. Enjoy it in good health.

Thanks again, everyone. I cannot recommend McKnight Guitars highly enough. My goodness, the more I play mine, the more I'm just amazed at how Tim really nailed all the things I told him (and Mary) I was looking for....and he made sure he fully understood everything I wanted before even starting the build. He even takes into consideration the playing style and strength of attack....and builds/voices accordingly. As a result, the action is perfect for my style of play. And with regard to the neck....he even ships out the neck in unfinished form for you to get an idea of the feel...and you can give him any feedback on modifications that you want. So....the result is...the neck is such a perfect comfort-level for me.

And the sound port! It is just such a great addition to the sonic experience for the player....and it is just so stunningly beautiful. I'm sure glad I took Tim & Mary's advice on getting one.

I don't know if there's another builder who will tailor to this degree of precision. And at the end of the whole process, even after all the collaboration that has gone through to get to the final product......if for ANY reason, you're still somehow not happy with the guitar, he will either modify it or you can even just give it back for a full refund.

Just unbelievable level of service. I've been spoiled. The McKnights have set the bar as high as you can.

Hi Raf,

Turbo specified a body depth at the tail using our standard depth of 4-1/4" which is totally customizable between shallow and deep. The body depth not only affects tone and response time but also player comfort.

Awesome guitar, so glad to hear you are loving it! I'm a big soundport fan, glad you made the call to include it. Sounds like working with Tim is a no-regrets decision.

Keep us posted as you learn its nuances, and enjoy coaxing the most tone from this amazing instrument!

You regret not owning a McKnight guitars ... Just for the fun it maybe someone will assure you Tim's been an entertainer with small builds we don't really discuss. Key word: Canjos. He only made a few and no longer making them. It is one of those things we seldom pick them up to tinker with, but I really enjoy mine because ... these things are so fun to look at and are just too cute. They still make me smile.

I watched Cigarfan play one.

Welcome to the clan Mcknight. Your instrument is beautiful and I'm confident you will love it for years to come.

Two finer people were never born.

They've done some incredibly kind things for me over the last 13 years of our friendship!

I always cherish our time together....
