Safest Method of Payment for Buyer and Seller for Item That Will Be Shipped
Not sure this is the correct forum to ask, but I am selling a somewhat expensive microphone to a person living in another state so it will need to be shipped. What is the best way of handling payment to protect both parties?
Paypal, Apple Pay, Venmo, something else?

All the payment methods mentioned should work fine. The 'safest' depends on what you mean. From a seller standpoint, PayPal Friends & Family is your best bet as once the deal is done (money received) it's done. For the buyer, PayPal for Service/Purchase is best since it gives that person a way to get their money back if the item is defective or not as advertised.
Your best bet is to communicate extensively to the point where you both are very comfortable with each other and have a thorough understanding of the item's condition. Once that is done, buyer makes payment however both agree upon and seller then packages extremely well and insures against damage and loss and ships via preferred or agreed upon carrier (USPS, UPS or FedEx). There's lots of variables to consider but I generally make sure I'm comfortable with the other guy whether I'm the buyer or seller before making a deal. I trust my gut. Lot's of communications and no rushing. If there is even a hint of something being 'off', I won't make the deal. I've bought, sold and traded probably 45 high-end guitars and multiple amps, mics and other gear with no issues. |

Thanks, Methos, as always, informative and helpful! I think we're going to use Paypal.
