Traded - 2015 Doerr Trinity Select
Well folks, one of the best guitars I've ever played and certainly the most gorgeous work of art I've owned with 6 strings.
http://s1383.photobucket.com/user/da...?sort=3&page=1 This is a Doerr Trinity Select cedar over cocobolo. Just a great guitar. In future I'm going to limit my guitar purchases to 000 and up. This is 00 sized and my right hand remains a little too undisciplined for this one, lord knows I've tried! Pictures do not do this guitar justice. I don't like a lot of bling but the "micro pearl" on the rosette and headstock are simply stunning. Not to get too personal here but I recently had a big health scare made me realize I hadn't sampled all there is in this world including guitars, travel etc and I'm not getting any younger! It just bumped me off my *** which is why I'm listing some really great keeper type guitars. Too many more just waiting their turn, including a couple on AGF right now!! The neck is 1 13/16 at the nut. I have a Collings with 1 13/16 nut that feels noticeably bigger than your standard 1 3/4 - this Doerr somehow is roomier than 1 3/4 but you simply don't notice it in your hand - it feels no bigger to me than 1 3/4. Upper Bout 9.5” Lower Bout 14.5” Length of Box 20” Depth of Neck Blocks 3.625″ Depth of Tail Block 4.50″ Scale Length 25″ Arm Bevel The guitar has about 4 pin sized dings on the cedar including one that's about 1/8 inch long. I've tried to capture it in the photo set with a pick. It really isn't noticeable unless you look for it. The bridge had a hairline crack at the saddle which Tom Doerr graciously replaced under warranty. He tweaked the guitar and somehow increased responsiveness even more. Tom is a great guy and a great builder in my opinion at the top of his game. Asking $xxxx shipped. I am the second owner. I purchased the guitar from steelstring who had it only 2 months or so before I purchased it. Thanks for looking.

Gotta move something to get something Mike, she is beautiful but a tad small for this old dread guy.
Kevin, thanks for the words of encouragement!

They really are and Tom is one of the nicest guys you'll ever run across. Maybe many haven't played a Doerr but when you do the quality and care and innovation just comes shinning through. I plan to try another model one day soon.

Man your killing me Dale ! I almost commissioned this exact guitar from Tom several years ago, but ran into some health issues as well, that made me put the brakes on. Can you tell me the string spacing at the saddle ? Give us a brief description of tone in your opinion if you could. Would like to know if the smaller body gives you a full, rich, resonant tone or is it more focused ?
Thanks |

I measure 2 5/16 at the saddle. The tone is very full and resonant owing to the cedar. The sustain is incredible and the guitar responds to even the lightest touch. I require a full rich bass not and this guitar has it in spades - you don't have to add the disclaimer " for its size" here. The bass is just that good. Trebles are sweet and full.

Thanks John. Appreciate the good wishes on the Doerr.
I have a weak spot for Beneteau's, the guitar in your signature looks sweet. Try the Santa Fe parabolic strings on that one. I did with mine and love the results...
