I initially found the new 17-series guitars pretty intriguing too, but I'm wondering...
  • Considering their relatively low price point ($1500-ish, street), are they being made in Nazareth or Mexico?
  • The narrow bridge string spacing (2-5/32") seems quite odd for a guitar like this?

MLO PA is my favorite neck and the only good neck in the Martin line, of course my opinion.
RE the 17's certainly narrow pins would kill it for me

The 17s are made in Nazareth, PA.

The SW, 15, and 16 series are even less and are made in Nazareth. I don't see them moving the 17's to Navojoa.

When will these start showing up in the stores? I'm interested in the 00-17.

Probably March/April but we'll know more later this week.

Clearly they didn't consult me about the saddle spacing.

Don't feel bad...I don't think they consulted anyone about it!

I sure hope the 5/32" string spacing is a mis print. That would put me off this guitar as well. Maury or Ted please let us know if this is correct.

Per my Martin rep, 5/32" is not a typo.

My Larrivee OM-05 has a 2.25" saddle spacing, The WS 00-17 is 2.15" (D-16GT is 2.125" btw)

Just enough to notice (maybe, I really don't notice the string spacing between my Larrivee and Martin. The nut difference, yes) . That Whiskey Sunset looks really good though.

I need to get in good with my local music shop, so I can see a NAMM show.

I have heard it is SO noisy that really evaluating a guitar is not feasible.
