Default Preventing Electro-Voice Evolve 30M from overheating

I do a solo acoustic gig with an Electro-Voice Evolve 30M. Some are outdoors with most under cover (tent or stage). However, I may be doing an outdoor gig with no tent or covering that exposes the amp to direct sunlight and possible overheating. There may be 30 to 100 people. Has anyone tried covering the speaker pole and bass cabinet with a white sheet to deflect the sun? If so, does it drastically affect the sound? Any other suggestions to keep this from overheating? Thanks.

Put up a gazebo over your speaker and put yourself in it as well.

I don't do outdoor gigs without a covering to keep things in the shade, but this is a special situation for a friend that I'm helping out. The obvious solution is a gazebo or tent but I don't have either and don't want to purchase one for a one off gig so I was hoping to get by with a covering to keep things cool. Thanks for your thoughts.

You’re welcome.

I take your point but suggest if you did buy one then opportunities for it’s use would appear like magic.

When I’ve had the 30M in direct Sun, I put a light colored towel over the display/inputs. Not really worried too much about other parts, just the brains.

A cheap beach umbrella would probably work.

Some sort of covering that's a reflective surface (like white) and a fan directly on the main amp/brain would be all I can think of... I wouldn't be overly concerned with the speaker tower, not for a reasonably short period of time.

Potential damage to my guitars and equipment is precisely why I have done so few gigs in direct sunlight... it just doesn't work out well...

I wouldn't worry about the speaker pole, but the digital control panel on the base unit might be a concern.

I did an hour set in a baseball field w/ a band of iPad people, about 3/4ths the way through the singer's iPad shut down due to overheating. I'm not proud to admit I found this amusing.
