That's a beauty John. I've never seen a set that large. If I'm not mistaken, I believe Alan Carruth has used Persimmon for FB and bridges.

Personally, I think Guitars in the luthier profession are heading towards woods that we don't see often. That players and buyers find unique and different.
This particular set looks stunning.

Well alright then. I will do just that, and you can take it into that sound booth and have your way with it.

For some reason that back reminds me of Mango...or is it monkeypod? Either way, it’s beautiful!

Thanks Mike. I think you are right about it looking like mango. It has a much better tap tone than mango.

That is beautiful wood, John. I'm with you regarding domestic, sustainable woods. Walnut is probably the more common domestic wood that I get requests for. I'm building three guitars now and none fit that domestic and sustainable category.

Beautiful wood and I like the cameo! I have no doubt it will sing equally beautifully by the time you are done with it...

I guess Maple would qualify as domestic and sustainable. I sure LOVE my Maple Round Peak !!!

Have fun

Paul

Paul, I can not find the Round Peak on John's website. Do you know the dimensions?

Well ... I think it's just amazing looking ... AND I'm sure you'll pull every last ounce of it's natural sonic properties out of it John!

Tom, the Lower Bout is 16.25", UB 11". Waist 9.5" JK has built my three with differing depths. The Brown Bomb is 3.5/8" and 4.5".

The OVERLORD, my most recent, has a Manzer Wedge. It really feels like a huge Stratocaster. Nothing about it is uncomfortable at all! I intend to bring it to B.I.G. You will swoon...

All have a flatter butt than a GS. but fit very well in a Taylor Grand Symphony case.

Originally John's RP was an oversized 12 fret dread, but I asked John to pinch the waist a bit and we both liked it so much he has continued with the same shape.

John, please correct me if I am wrong!

This one here is devastatingly beautiful !!!

Cheers

Paul

Thanks for the great info. You are indeed a JK expert. Someone ought to snatch this one up soon lol!!!! I am looking forward to playing yours, and although I want to feel it and hear it, I really look forward to feeling the asymmetric neck you have described.
